High quality planting material supported with farm extension services and technical support is needed to ensure Higher productivity and yields for the farm produce. Gramco involves farmers at multiple levels- supplying inputs, engaging for contract farming and undertaking certified seed multiplication program (Gramco is not engaged in seed related research at the moment). This encourages the farmers in adoption of better inputs and thereby higher yields and gains. Contrary to the common belief that farmers are slow or resist seed replacement – we have experienced that proper guidance and support is a positive motivator for the farmers.
